Privacy Policy
Last updated July 24, 2026
This Privacy Notice for Misbau LLC ('we', 'us', or 'our') describes how and why we might access, collect, store, use, and/or share ('process') your personal information when you use our services ('Services'), including when you:
- Download and use our mobile application (Degas: Espresso Dial-In), or any other application of ours that links to this Privacy Notice
- Use Degas to log your espresso: you record the beans you are using and each shot you pull — grind setting, dose, yield, extraction time, and a rating — and Degas charts how your extraction drifts as the beans age after roasting. Degas has no account system, no chat, and no feed.
- Engage with us in other related ways, including any support requests or feedback
The short version: Degas is designed so that we hold as little of your information as possible. The coffee data you log stays on your device — we never receive it. We do not require an account, and we do not use analytics or advertising services. The only personal information that leaves your device relates to purchases (handled by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat) and anything you choose to send us, such as a feedback email.
Questions or concerns? Reading this Privacy Notice will help you understand your privacy rights and choices. We are responsible for making decisions about how your personal information is processed. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Services. If you still have any questions or concerns, please contact us at [email protected].
SUMMARY OF KEY POINTS
This summary provides key points from our Privacy Notice, but you can find out more details about any of these topics by using our table of contents below to find the section you are looking for.
What personal information do we process? Almost none. Your coffee logs are stored only on your device. We process limited purchase-related information if you subscribe (via Apple, Google, and RevenueCat), and any information you choose to include when you contact us.
Do we process any sensitive personal information? We do not process sensitive personal information.
Do we collect any information from third parties? We do not collect any information from third parties.
How do we process your information? To provide the App's paid features, respond to your support requests, and comply with law. We process your information only when we have a valid legal reason to do so.
In what situations and with which types of parties do we share personal information? Only with our purchase-processing providers (Apple, Google, RevenueCat), and only what is needed to operate subscriptions. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising.
How do we keep your information safe? The most important safeguard is architectural: your coffee data never leaves your device, so it cannot be exposed by our servers — we do not have any. For the limited information we do process, we have appropriate organisational and technical measures in place. However, no electronic transmission over the internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
What are your rights? Depending on where you are located geographically, the applicable privacy law may mean you have certain rights regarding your personal information.
How do you exercise your rights? The easiest way is to email us at [email protected], or to contact us using the details in this notice. We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
Information stored only on your device
In Short: Your coffee data never reaches us.
Everything you log in Degas — bean names, roasters, roast dates, roast levels, grind settings, doses, yields, extraction times, ratings, and tasting notes — is stored in a local database on your device. It is not uploaded to us or to any server we control, and we have no ability to access it. It may be included in your device's own backups (such as iCloud or Google backup), which are governed by Apple's or Google's terms, not ours.
Personal information you disclose to us
In Short: We collect only the personal information you choose to send us.
Degas does not require registration and has no account system. The only personal information we receive from you directly is what you choose to provide when you contact us — for example, your email address and the contents of your message when you use the Contact & Feedback screen (which opens your email app) or email us directly.
Sensitive Information. We do not process sensitive information.
Payment Data. If you choose to purchase a Degas Pro subscription, that purchase is made through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google collects and processes your payment details, and your subscription status is managed for us by RevenueCat under an anonymous identifier. We do not receive or store your name, payment card number, security code, or other payment instrument details. You may review their privacy notices here: Apple, Google, and RevenueCat.
Information automatically collected
In Short: Very little. We do not use analytics or advertising services.
Degas does not include analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. If you subscribe, RevenueCat processes limited technical information needed to validate and manage your subscription — such as an anonymous app user identifier, device type and operating system version, app version, and purchase receipt data. If you email us, we receive the technical metadata ordinarily included in email.
2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: To operate subscriptions, respond to you, and comply with law.
We process the limited personal information described above for the following reasons:
- To provide paid features — validating and managing your Degas Pro subscription through Apple, Google, and RevenueCat, including restoring purchases on a new device.
- To respond to user inquiries and offer support — replying to messages you send us.
- To improve the App — reading the feedback you choose to send us.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
3. WHAT LEGAL BASES DO WE RELY ON TO PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We only process your personal information when we believe it is necessary and we have a valid legal reason to do so under applicable law.
If you are located in the EU or UK, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR require us to explain the valid legal bases we rely on. We may rely on the following:
- Performance of a Contract. To provide the subscription features you purchase.
- Legitimate Interests. To respond to your messages and improve the App based on feedback you send us.
- Consent. Where we ask for it; you can withdraw your consent at any time.
- Legal Obligations. Where necessary for compliance with our legal obligations.
If you are located in Canada, we may process your information where you have given express or implied consent. In certain exceptional cases permitted by law, we may process information without consent — for example, for fraud detection and prevention, or where required to comply with a subpoena, warrant, or court order.
4. WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
In Short: Only with the providers that process purchases, and only what they need.
The categories of third parties we may share personal information with are as follows:
- Payment processors (Apple and Google — for in-app purchases)
- Subscription management (RevenueCat — anonymous identifier and receipt data used to validate entitlements)
We also may need to share personal information in the following situation:
- Business Transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and there are no other users who can see your data — Degas has no social, sharing, or multi-user features.
5. DO WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?
In Short: No.
Degas does not use cookies, advertising identifiers, or tracking technologies, and we do not serve advertising in the App.
6. IS YOUR INFORMATION TRANSFERRED INTERNATIONALLY?
In Short: Purchase-related information may be processed in the United States.
Your coffee data stays on your device wherever you are. The limited purchase-related information described in this notice is processed by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat, which operate globally; RevenueCat processes data in the United States. If you email us, your message is handled by our email provider, which may also process data in the United States. If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), or Switzerland, please be aware that these countries may not have data-protection laws as comprehensive as those in your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and equivalent UK and Swiss safeguards), for such transfers.
7. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: Your coffee data is yours to keep or delete; we retain almost nothing.
The coffee data you log is stored on your device for as long as you keep the App installed. Deleting the App permanently deletes that data (unless it is included in your own device backup). We do not hold a copy and cannot recover it for you.
Support and feedback emails are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards. Subscription records are retained by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat in accordance with their own policies; RevenueCat retains entitlement records so that your subscription can be restored on a new device.
8. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?
In Short: The strongest safeguard is that we never receive your coffee data at all.
Because Degas stores your data locally, its security also depends on the security of your device — we recommend using a device passcode and your platform's standard protections. For the limited information we do process, we have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organisational security measures. However, despite our safeguards, no electronic transmission over the internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that unauthorised third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify information.
9. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?
In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.
We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to children under 18 years of age or the equivalent age of majority in your jurisdiction, nor do we knowingly sell such personal information. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18, or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to their use of the Services. If you become aware of any data we may have collected from children under 18, please contact us at [email protected].
10. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?
In Short: Depending on your region — including the EEA, UK, Switzerland, Canada, and certain US states — you may have rights that allow greater access to and control over your personal information.
In some regions (like the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and Canada), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right to request access to and obtain a copy of your personal information, to request rectification or erasure, to restrict processing, to data portability, and not to be subject to solely automated decision-making. You can make such a request by contacting us using the details below, and we will consider and act upon it in accordance with applicable law. Note that for your coffee data, these rights are best exercised directly on your device, since we never receive that data and cannot access, correct, or delete it remotely.
How to contact us about your rights:
- Email: [email protected]
- Post: see 'How can you contact us about this notice?' below
If you are located in the UK or EEA and believe we are unlawfully processing your personal information, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint). If you are located in Switzerland, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.
Withdrawing your consent. If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, you have the right to withdraw it at any time by contacting us. This will not affect the lawfulness of processing before its withdrawal.
11. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track ('DNT') feature you can activate. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognising and implementing DNT signals has been finalised. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals. If a standard is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you in a revised version of this Privacy Notice. In any event, Degas does not track you.
12. DO UNITED STATES RESIDENTS HAVE SPECIFIC PRIVACY RIGHTS?
In Short: If you are a resident of certain US states, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information.
If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, or Virginia, you may have the right to request access to and details about the personal information we hold about you, to correct inaccuracies, to obtain a copy of it, and to delete it. You may also have the right to withdraw consent. These rights may be limited in some circumstances by applicable law.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not process or share it for targeted advertising. Because your coffee data is stored only on your device, in most cases we hold no personal information about you beyond any correspondence you have sent us. To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If we deny a request, you may appeal by contacting us at the same address.
13. DO WE MAKE UPDATES TO THIS NOTICE?
In Short: Yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws.
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated 'Last updated' date at the top of this Privacy Notice. If we make material changes, we may notify you either by prominently posting a notice or by directly sending you a notification. We encourage you to review this Privacy Notice frequently.

15. HOW CAN YOU REVIEW, UPDATE, OR DELETE THE DATA WE COLLECT FROM YOU?
Your coffee data lives only on your device: you can review and edit it in the App, and deleting the App deletes it permanently. We cannot access, correct, or delete it remotely because we never receive it. For the limited information we may hold about you (such as support correspondence), you can request access, correction, or deletion by emailing [email protected]. To manage or cancel a subscription, use your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.
