Terms of Use
Terms of Use
Last updated 30 July 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Misbau LLC (“Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a company registered in the United Arab Emirates at Sharjah Media City, P.O. Box 130130, Sharjah. They govern your use of Turn: Board Game Rules (“Turn”), our board-game rules reference website, mobile application, and related services (together, the “Services”).
Turn provides short, human-reviewed rules summaries and edge-case rulings for selected tabletop games, links to official or authoritative sources, a game-request feature, and community roadmap voting.
By accessing or using Turn, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. Questions may be sent to [email protected].
1. Eligibility
You must be legally capable of agreeing to these Terms. If you are a minor where you live, you may use the Services only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. By using Turn, you represent that you meet these requirements and are not prohibited from using the Services under applicable law.
2. Nature of the Services
Turn is designed as a quick-reference companion for tabletop play. Coverage is limited to the games, editions, expansions, languages, and rulings identified in the Services. A “Verified” label means that Misbau LLC’s content process has reviewed the entry against the source identified on the ruling card; it does not mean that a publisher, designer, rights holder, retailer, Apple, or any other third party has approved or endorsed the entry.
Turn is not a complete replacement for a game’s rulebook, errata, FAQ, card text, scenario instructions, or tournament rules. A game’s official materials and the latest ruling from its publisher or designer control if they conflict with Turn.
3. Licence to use Turn
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to access and use Turn for lawful, personal, non-commercial tabletop reference. For a mobile application, this includes installing and using one copy on devices you own or control as permitted by the applicable app store’s usage rules.
This licence does not allow you to reproduce or redistribute Turn’s database, systematically extract rulings, operate a competing rules service using Turn’s content, resell access, or commercially exploit the Services without our prior written permission.
4. Rules information and important disclaimer
We aim to provide accurate, concise, source-backed information, but board-game rules change and may differ by edition, printing, expansion, scenario, language, organised-play policy, or later official clarification. Sources may be revised, moved, or removed. Human review reduces errors but cannot eliminate them.
You are responsible for confirming that a ruling applies to the version and configuration you are playing. If a result appears uncertain or inconsistent with your materials, consult the linked source and the current official rulebook, FAQ, errata, or publisher ruling. You may report a suspected issue to us.
Turn’s answers are informational aids for recreational play. We are not responsible for game outcomes, tournament decisions, scoring disputes, lost play time, purchases made in reliance on coverage, or disagreements among players. Tournament organisers and judges may apply their own binding policies.
5. Board-game intellectual property and no affiliation
Board-game names, logos, rulebooks, card names, characters, settings, artwork, and other game materials belong to their respective owners. They are used or referenced only as reasonably necessary to identify games, describe rules interactions, and direct users to relevant sources.
Unless Turn expressly states otherwise, Misbau LLC and Turn are independent and are not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or authorised by any game publisher, designer, distributor, retailer, or rights holder. Links to official sources do not imply endorsement of Turn.
If you are a rights holder and believe content in Turn infringes your rights or is attributed incorrectly, contact [email protected] with enough detail for us to investigate.
6. Our intellectual property
We own or license the rights in Turn’s software, database organisation, original summaries, interface, design, branding, and other original materials (collectively, “Turn Content”). Turn Content is protected by intellectual-property and unfair-competition laws. Except for the limited licence in section 3, no right in Turn Content or the Turn name or logo is transferred to you.
You may quote a short Turn ruling for non-commercial discussion if you attribute Turn and do not suggest official publisher approval. Any broader reproduction, automated extraction, republication, commercial use, or creation of a derivative database requires our prior written permission.
7. Votes, game requests, and feedback
Turn may let you vote for proposed games, submit a game title for future coverage, report a rules issue, or send feedback (“Submissions”). You are responsible for your Submissions and must not submit unlawful, misleading, abusive, infringing, confidential, or personal information that is unnecessary for the feature.
Game requests and votes guide our roadmap but do not guarantee that we will add, prioritise, or retain a game. We may combine duplicates, correct game titles, adjust displayed base counts, reject suspicious votes, remove requests, or change the roadmap to account for source quality, licensing, review capacity, and product strategy.
You retain ownership of original feedback you provide. You grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable licence to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, and otherwise use your Submissions to operate, improve, market, and support the Services, without compensation or attribution. This licence does not give us ownership of third-party board-game intellectual property contained in a Submission.
8. Prohibited activities
You must not:
- use the Services for an unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose;
- circumvent voting controls, cast automated or duplicate votes, manipulate results, or submit requests through bots or scripts;
- scrape, crawl, harvest, copy, or systematically extract Turn Content except as expressly permitted by us or applicable law;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to discover source code, except where applicable law expressly permits;
- probe, disrupt, overload, damage, or gain unauthorised access to the Services or related systems;
- upload or transmit malicious code or interfere with another person’s use of Turn;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent an affiliation with us, a game publisher, or another party;
- remove copyright, trademark, attribution, source, or proprietary notices;
- use Turn Content to train, evaluate, or populate another commercial rules database, search service, or machine-learning system without written permission; or
- use the Services in a way that violates another party’s privacy, intellectual-property, or other legal rights.
9. Accounts
Turn currently does not require or offer user accounts. Accordingly, there is currently no Turn account to delete. Locally stored voting information can be removed through your browser’s site-data controls or by deleting the mobile app or clearing its local data.
If we introduce accounts, profiles, or sign-in later, we will update these Terms and our Privacy Policy and provide any account-deletion method required by applicable law and app-store policy.
10. Subscriptions, free trials, and billing
Turn may offer auto-renewing monthly and annual subscriptions that provide the subscriber features described in the app at the time of purchase, including ongoing access to Turn’s maintained and expanding rules-reference service.
Our intended United States list prices are USD $4.99 per month and USD $39.99 per year. Prices may vary by country, currency, tax, platform, or future pricing decision. The localized price and billing period displayed by the Apple App Store or Google Play immediately before you confirm the purchase are the price and period that apply to your transaction.
Free trial
Where offered, eligible new subscribers may receive a three-day free trial. Eligibility is determined by the applicable app store and generally is limited to one introductory offer per subscription group or as otherwise stated by that store. The purchase screen will display the exact trial duration and eligibility before you subscribe.
Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends (or within any different period stated by the store), the trial automatically converts to the subscription plan you selected and the store charges the price shown at confirmation. If you are not eligible for the trial, the store will show that the subscription is payable immediately before you confirm.
Automatic renewal and billing
Subscriptions automatically renew for successive monthly or annual periods unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, subject to the app store’s terms. Your app-store account is charged at confirmation of purchase and for each renewal. The store may notify you of price changes and may require your consent where applicable law or store policy requires it.
A subscription provides access across devices associated with the same app-store account where the store and Turn support that access. You may use the app’s Restore Purchases control to recover an eligible active entitlement.
Cancellation
You may cancel at any time through your Apple ID subscription settings or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting Turn does not cancel a subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and you retain subscriber access until then unless the store states otherwise. We do not charge a cancellation fee.
Refunds
Apple or Google processes the transaction and handles refund requests under its policies. Except where required by law or granted by the applicable store, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide credits for a partially used billing period. Nothing in these Terms limits a non-waivable statutory right to cancel or receive a refund.
Ongoing value and plan changes
Turn subscriptions are intended to provide recurring value through maintained rules coverage, corrections, source review, and additional supported content or features. The exact catalogue and individual games may change; a subscription does not guarantee permanent coverage of a particular game. We will not materially reduce the overall paid service in a misleading manner. If we discontinue a paid plan, we will handle active subscriptions in accordance with applicable law and app-store policy.
11. Apple and other app-store terms
If you download Turn from the Apple App Store or another app marketplace (“App Distributor”), the following terms apply:
- These Terms are between you and Misbau LLC, not the App Distributor. We, not the App Distributor, are responsible for Turn and its content.
- Your licence is limited to a non-transferable right to use Turn on devices you own or control, subject to the App Distributor’s usage rules. For Apple, Turn may also be accessed and used by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing where Apple’s rules permit.
- We are responsible for maintenance and support required by applicable law or described in these Terms. The App Distributor has no obligation to provide maintenance or support.
- If Turn fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify the App Distributor. Where applicable, it may refund the purchase price, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App Distributor has no other warranty obligation.
- We, not the App Distributor, are responsible for addressing claims relating to Turn, including product-liability, regulatory, consumer-protection, privacy, or intellectual-property claims.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a United States Government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you are not listed on a United States Government prohibited- or restricted-parties list.
- You must comply with applicable third-party terms, including your mobile-data or internet-service agreement.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Other App Distributors may be beneficiaries to the extent provided by their terms or applicable law.
12. Third-party websites and content
The Services link to official rulebooks, FAQs, publishers, designers, and other third-party resources. We do not control third-party websites, their availability, content, security, accessibility, privacy practices, or later changes. A link is provided for reference and does not amount to an endorsement, partnership, or guarantee.
When you leave Turn, the third party’s terms and policies apply. You access third-party resources at your own risk. We are not responsible for losses resulting from a third-party website or from transactions with third parties.
13. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how Turn handles information and is incorporated into these Terms. Turn currently requires no account; rules searches remain on your device; and limited voting, game-request, support, and technical information is handled as described in that policy.
14. Changes, corrections, and availability
We may add, remove, revise, suspend, or discontinue any part of Turn, including games, rulings, source links, features, displayed vote counts, or platform availability. We may correct typographical, factual, attribution, source, pricing, or other errors at any time.
We do not promise that Turn will always be available, that every source link will remain active, or that support for any particular game, edition, or expansion will continue. Maintenance, third-party outages, security events, or circumstances beyond our control may interrupt the Services.
15. Term and termination
These Terms remain in effect while you use the Services. You may stop using Turn at any time. We may restrict or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create legal or security risk, misuse voting or submission features, or where necessary to protect the Services or comply with law.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, dispute resolution, and miscellaneous terms—will survive.
16. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TURN AND THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, CURRENCY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES, RULINGS, SEARCH RESULTS, VOTE COUNTS, OR THIRD-PARTY LINKS WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, CURRENT, UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. OFFICIAL RULEBOOKS, FAQS, ERRATA, CARD TEXT, SCENARIO MATERIALS, AND PUBLISHER OR TOURNAMENT RULINGS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER TURN.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. In those jurisdictions, the exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by law.
17. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MISBAU LLC AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, OR OPPORTUNITY; OR ANY GAME, TOURNAMENT, PURCHASE, OR OTHER DECISION ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE LESSER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US FOR TURN DURING THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) USD 100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, or any non-waivable consumer right.
18. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Misbau LLC and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from your unlawful misuse of the Services, your Submissions, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of another person’s rights. We may assume control of the defence of a matter subject to indemnification, and you agree to cooperate reasonably.
19. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence remain unaffected.
20. Dispute resolution
Before beginning formal proceedings, you and Misbau LLC agree to attempt to resolve a dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days after one party gives written notice to the other.
If the dispute is not resolved, it will be finally settled by binding arbitration administered by the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) under the DIAC Arbitration Rules in effect when arbitration begins. There will be one arbitrator. The seat will be Dubai, United Arab Emirates; the language will be English; and the substantive law will be the law of the United Arab Emirates.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, arbitration will occur individually and not as a class, consolidated, or representative action. Disputes about intellectual-property validity or infringement, theft, piracy, unauthorised use, privacy violations, or requests for injunctive relief may instead be brought before a court of competent jurisdiction in the United Arab Emirates. Nothing prevents either party from bringing a matter to an appropriate regulator or using a small-claims or consumer forum where a non-waivable law permits it.
21. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Turn evolves. We will revise the “Last updated” date and provide additional notice where changes are material or applicable law requires it. Updated Terms apply prospectively when posted or on the later date stated in the notice. Your continued use after they take effect means you accept them.
22. Miscellaneous
These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding Turn. If a provision is unlawful or unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary or severed, and the remaining provisions remain effective. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganisation, merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets. We are not liable for delay or failure caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, agency, employment, fiduciary, publisher, designer, or endorsement relationship. Headings are for convenience only. Electronic notices and records satisfy any legal writing requirement to the extent permitted by law.
